The town of Monchique is known for its waters with curative powers. The therapeutic use of these springs lasted throughout the ages, attracting illustrious figures such as King João II. Besides its healing waters, Monchique offers local products such as wool and linen, ceramic handicrafts and chestnut woodwork.
Every year the famous “Feira de Enchidos” (sausage fair) takes place here, where you can taste the best sausages of Monchique. You can also take the opportunity to visit the Chapel of São Sebastião and the Monchique Parish Church.
